What causes teeth discoloration?
Discoloration has been classified into extrinsic or intrinsic on the basis of the stain location. It may also happen due to the age factor.
Extrinsic discoloration occurs when the outer layer of your teeth (enamel) gets stained. It may happen due to the following reasons:
1. Excessive tea or coffee
3. Sugary drinks
Intrinsic on the other hand is the type when the inner structure of the tooth i.e. the dentin darkens or turns yellow.
Age-related discolouration occurs when dentin turns yellow naturally over the years. It is the combination of intrinsic and extrinsic discolouration.
